Senior Consultant, Department of Anesthesiology
Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed is a highly accomplished anesthesiologist with over 40 years of extensive experience across all surgical disciplines, including cardiac surgery, critical care and high-risk anesthesia management. Currently serving as Senior Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology at MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College, he is recognized for his clinical leadership, expertise in perioperative care and patient safety, and contributions to intensive care management within the hospital’s ICU.
Dr. Ahmed began his career in Government Health Service in 1983 and retired as Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Department of Cardiac Surgery, Chattogram Medical College in 2016. Over the years, he has held key positions at Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital, IPGM&R (now BMU), Faridpur Medical College, Rangpur Medical College, NICVD, Chattogram Medical College and Enam Medical College. He is especially noted for establishing and expanding the Department of Cardiac Anesthesiology at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he developed infrastructure and manpower for advanced cardiac anesthesia services.
He also completed a WHO Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia at Fortis Cardiac Hospital, Delhi (2013). Alongside his clinical excellence, Dr. Ahmed has been a dedicated teacher and mentor, guiding junior anesthesiologists and shaping safe anesthesia practices in Bangladesh.
