Alhaj Mockbul Hossain was a visionary who always sought to improve himself and those around him. A law graduate of Dhaka University and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, he spent his youth as a student activist and joined as a freedom fighter in the Independence of Bangladesh ending his political career as Member of Parliament, Dhaka-9.
He was a pioneer in the foundations of industries in Bangladesh in the 1970's starting with transportation and garments and later flourished in the field of business as Founder Chairman of MH Samorita Hospital and Medical College, Sandhani Life Insurance Company Limited, Purabi General Insurance Company Limited and many other companies.
Alhaj Mockbul Hossain was a philanthropist at heart, being a patron for Mohammadpur Islamic Centre, Hafezia, Jameya Madrasa & Orphanage, AMH Orphanage, to name but a few of the many organisations he aided.
He founded MH Samorita Medical College and City University with the aim to give students a place of education so that they would prosper.
