Prof. Dr. M. U. Kabir Chowdhury is a highly respected with extensive experience, internationally reputed, one of the leading Dermatologist and pioneer Skin Surgeon in Bangladesh. He has a brilliant academic and professional record. After graduation from Dhaka Medical College in 1974, he has started his career as a medical teacher in 1976 at Dhaka Medical College. He has obtained specialty in Dermatology and Venereology with excellent grade and top of the list from university of Vienna in 1985.
Thereafter he received intensive training in Paediatric Dermatology, from Vienna University Hospital, Skin Pathology from American Academy of Dermatopathologist, Skin Laser Surgery from Harvard Medical School, training in Sexual Medicine from The University of British Columbia, Canada and Skin Surgery from All India Medical Institute, India.
He started his career as a Practicing Dermatologist in Holy Family Hospital as a Senior Consultant and Founder Head of the Department of Dermatology & Venereology in Holy Family Hospital and became Professor as soon as Holy Family became a Medical College.
For outstanding performance, he was appointed as a Visiting Professor of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada.
He is Ex-Principal of MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College. He is also working as Chief
Consultant, National Skin Centre, Dhaka, Faculty member of Rita Skin Institute, Kolkata, India,
Guest professor, Armed Forces Medical College, Dhaka, Guest professor, The College of the
General Practitioners, Dhaka. Professor Chowdhury possesses wide teaching experience in
Dermatology and is being acknowledged as an excellent teacher with wide spectra of updated
information. He has published a number of research papers in Clinical Dermatology and
Dermatosurgery.
