Prof. Dr. Sarkar Mahbub Ahamed Shamim is a highly experienced dermatologist and Venereologist with over 19 years of clinical and academic experience. He is an American Board-Certified Aesthetic Dermatologist with substantial expertise as a skin, sex, anti-aging specialist and as a surgeon in laser treatments, hair transplantation and cosmetic procedures. With a strong academic background and years of teaching experience in leading medical colleges of Bangladesh, Dr. Shamim has established himself as a trusted name in clinical dermatology. As a Professor in the Department of Dermatology & Venereology at MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College, he plays a key role in clinical dermatology services as well as teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is well-regarded for his hands-on approach to both clinical care and procedural dermatology.
Dr. Shamim is highly qualified with degrees including MBBS from the Institute of Applied Health Sciences, University of Chittagong, a Diploma in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK, and MCPS and FCPS in Dermatology from the Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons. He holds multiple leadership roles such as Vice President and Board Member of SAARC AAD, Secretary General and Board Member of Aesthetic Dermatology Society of Bangladesh (ADSB) and Bangla Derma. Additionally, he is recognized as an international faculty, speaker and trainer at major conferences including AAD, EADV, AMWC, SAARC AAD, ACSICON, CDSI, Pigmentarycon, FUE Asia, and Dubai Derma.
Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Shamim is the Chief Consultant, Chairman, and CEO at Laser Treat and Dhaka Dermatology Institute (DDI). He has also served as Associate Professor at Enam Medical College & Hospital and held key roles at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), National Skin Center, Laser Chain, Laser Medical Centre, and Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital.
