Asst. Prof. Dr. Tamanna Ahmed is a skilled plastic surgeon with extensive experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Plastic Surgery Unit, Department of Surgery at MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College, she is actively engaged in both surgical practice and academic teaching.
Before joining MH Samorita, Dr. Tamanna worked at the National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery as a Research Associate and Plastic Surgeon, where she managed research activities, mentored trainees and independently performed diverse plastic surgical procedures. She also trained and served as Resident in the Plastic Surgery Department of the same institute and worked at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka as a Residential Medical Officer in Plastic Surgery.
Her research contributions include studies on flexor tendon reconstruction, collagen sheet dressing in pediatric burns, and syndactyly correction, with publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has also undergone advanced training and workshops in areas such as burn management, reconstructive flap surgery, aesthetic surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, and oncoplastic breast surgery, both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Tamanna is a lifetime member of the Society of Plastic Surgeons of Bangladesh and the Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Bangladesh. She is recognized for her surgical precision, patient-centered care, and commitment to advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery in Bangladesh.
