Prof. Dr. Ummay Kawsar is a senior ophthalmologist with over 14 years of experience in eye care, microsurgery and medical teaching. Currently serving as Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College, she is highly regarded for her expertise in cataract, glaucoma and retinal disorders as well as advanced ophthalmic procedures.

She began her career as a Medical Officer at Islamia Eye Hospital, later serving as Registrar at Northern International Medical College & Hospital before joining MH Samorita in 2015 as Assistant Professor. Over the years, she has established herself as both a skilled clinician and a dedicated academic mentor.

Dr. Kawsar has contributed to multiple national journals with research and case reports on ocular diseases, glaucoma management and retinal conditions. Her published works in reputed ophthalmology journals highlight her commitment to advancing evidence-based eye care.

Through her extensive clinical practice, teaching, and research, Prof. Dr. Ummay Kawsar continues to play an important role in preserving vision and shaping the future of ophthalmology in Bangladesh.
