Prof. Dr. Nahla Bari

Professor & Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Prof. Dr. Nahla Bari is a senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with more than 26 years of clinical and academic experience. Currently serving as Professor & Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MH Samorita Hospital & Medical College, she is recognized for her expertise in women’s reproductive health, high-risk pregnancy management and advanced gynecological procedures.

She began her career at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and IPGMR (now BMU), where she gained extensive experience in complex obstetric and gynaecological care. Before joining MH Samorita, Dr. Bari held progressive academic roles at Z.H. Sikder Women’s Medical College from 2000–2015, as Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, as well as serving as an MBBS examiner and postgraduate mentor.

She has also completed advanced international training in maternal-fetal medicine, uro-gynaecology, colposcopy, and gynae-oncology at the National University of Singapore and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Bari has authored several research publications on postpartum haemorrhage, polycystic ovary syndrome and teenage pregnancy. A fellow of the Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS), she is also a life member of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) and the Fertility and Sterility Society of Bangladesh and serves on the OGSB GynaeOncology Task Force.
